Kossoff Drive

Description
The Kossoff Drive was born out of obsession. Specifically, one blistering live recording—Free, Live at the BBC Manchester. That tone. That Les Paul into a cranked Marshall rawness. In my opinion, the greatest guitar sound ever captured.
This pedal is my tribute to Paul Kossoff’s soul-drenched playing: not a clone, but a heartfelt attempt to bring that expressive, sagging vintage drive into the hands of modern players.
Each unit is point-to-point hand-wired in the UK using a carefully selected mix of vintage and modern components. The result? A one-of-a-kind circuit, built with feeling, finished with character, and voiced to honour a legend.
Key Features
FET-Based Overdrive Circuit – valve-like breakup with touch-responsive dynamics
Point-to-Point Hand-Wired – no board, no shortcuts—just solid wiring with a personal touch
Vintage-Inspired Components – including NOS parts where available for added harmonic richness
Sound & Performance
The Kossoff Drive delivers that unmistakable British crunch—warm, thick, and utterly alive under the fingers. It responds beautifully to your guitar’s volume and picking nuance, pushing your amp into glorious, mid-rich sustain when pushed.
Designed especially for Les Paul-style guitars, it brings out every ounce of bite and bloom without masking your tone. Whether you’re chasing the “All Right Now” magic or just want your leads to sing with vintage honesty, this pedal speaks your language.
Hear it in action on the Hello Sailor Effects YouTube channel, where the Kossoff Drive gets put through its paces with a Les Paul Custom—just like it should be.
