The Monmouth Octave Fuzz is my take on a high-gain, upper-octave fuzz that delivers a raw, aggressive, and harmonically rich tone. This isn’t just another fuzz box—it’s built to give you searing octave-up sustain, ripping lead tones, and a dynamic response that makes it incredibly fun to play.

At the heart of the circuit is a hybrid three-transistor design, blending a vintage germanium transistor with two silicon transistors. This mix gives you the best of both worlds—the warmth and musicality of germanium combined with the stability and bite of silicon. It’s voiced for a full, rich fuzz tone with an upper octave that cuts through without getting too harsh or shrill.

The controls are dead simple: Volume and Gain. Crank it up, and you get a thick, saturated fuzz with a pronounced octave effect—perfect for lead lines and Hendrix-style riffing. Roll back your guitar’s tone knob, and it smooths out beautifully for a more synth-like, vintage octave tone.
