This is the more advanced sibling to the silicon build shown in the video. A traditional germanium Fuzz Face built using genuine NOS Mullard black glass CV7112 transistors. These are the British military specification version of the OC140 and were manufactured to tighter tolerances for service reliability.

Unlike many vintage germanium builds, this pedal is designed for negative ground power, making it fully compatible with modern pedalboards and power supplies without compromise.

Each transistor was selected, tested, and biased by hand. Germanium fuzz is never generic and this pedal reflects that philosophy fully. It is alive, reactive, and unapologetically old school in the best possible way.

Hand built on tagboard using period correct layout practices and finished as a one off piece. No two will ever feel exactly the same.

This germanium Fuzz Face delivers a softer attack, warmer compression, and organic bloom that silicon cannot quite replicate. Notes feel elastic under the fingers with a smooth, singing sustain that reacts instantly to picking dynamics.

Clean up is exceptional. Roll the guitar volume back and the pedal transitions into glassy, chiming breakup that feels almost amp like. Push it hard and you are firmly into early Hendrix, Gilmour, and British blues rock territory.

The CV7112 transistors bring a rich midrange, rounded highs, and a natural sag that makes this fuzz feel alive rather than aggressive. This is a player’s fuzz, not a gimmick.

Only two of these germanium pedals were built from this transistor batch. Once these NOS Mullards are gone, they are gone for good.
